Frequently Asked Questions

Most frequent questions and answers

Do the ingredients in soap really matter ?

Yes, absolutely! Read the product you are using now and research the ingredient names. Do you really want your body to be absorbing questionable ingredients? Quality ingredients make a quality soap. Your skin, hair and scalp will feel wonderfully nourished and conditioned when using a product with exceptional wholesome ingredients.

We use several different vegetable and botanical oils in soap making to effect everything from the moisturizing nature of the soap to the amount of bubbliness the bar produces. Many using our soaps forego the need to use moisturizing lotions anymore.

What does “Natural Soap” really mean?

That is a difficult question to answer as there are no guidelines in Canada to define something as being “natural”. It’s rather mind boggling. Especially when you think of all of the products out there from food to cosmetics claiming to be “natural” with no set rules and regulations.

How is your soap better than the products I buy at the store?

We create each batch of cold or hot process soap making at the most basic level, and are in complete control over the ingredients in our products. Our handcrafted soaps contain nourishing oils and butters, as well as glycerine – a natural humectant that is a by-product of the soap making process. Our soaps are made by hand in small batches using natural colourants, such as clays and botanicals, and natural scents from essential oils. No fragrance oils, synthetic colours will ever be used in our products. Note: Slight variations in colour are to be expected which makes each bar unique. Product may not look exactly as shown.

Are your Beauty Care products treated the same as your soaps?

Our beauty care products are handcrafted with the same philosophy as our artisan soaps. The ingredients have been carefully researched and selected for their nourishing qualities.

Do your products have a Shelf life?

Yes they do! We do not use any chemicals or synthetics to preserve our products. We make our products in small batches and replenish our stock as needed to provide optimum freshness. As such, it’s recommended to use our products within 6 months and stored at room temperature or lower.
