Infusing oils with plantain and calendula

IMG_2748

The narrow-leaved plantain and calendula are still doing so well in the garden and it’s the middle of October! These abundant plants are just two of the healing plants in our Soothing Skin Salve.

Despite being considered a weed, the common garden plantain plant has edible leaves and seeds.  It has been known to provide health benefits such as enhanced wound healing and lowering inflammation. In the Spring, we eat the fresh young plantain leaves in our salads for a nutritional boost.

The colourful bright orange and yellow calendula flowers have been used for their skin soothing, healing and anti-inflammatory properties.

We further combine the goodness of plantain leaves and calendula flowers with self-heal flowers, jewelweed leaves, yarrow flowers and stems – three other wonderful beneficial plants, in our Soothing Skin Salve.  We package the Salve in convenient sized containers that can be carried with you, for those times when your skin needs some instant attention.

As always, you can find our products, description, pricing and more on Our Products page.
